MOON BOWL
2008
Location: Peace Garden Russells Hall Hospital Dudley.
Commissioner: Women’s Royal Voluntary Service
stainless steel & bronze. W.1200 x H.600 mm
The reflective bowl has the lunar cycle etched around the rim.
Also on the rim are two doves, while nearby another dove perches on a rock, all three doves are bronze casts.
The bowl is an open vessel for containment of liquid; here it gathers the sky bringing the qualities of heaven to earth.
Birds, in particular doves, are the universal symbol for the human spirit.
