GETTING INTO HOT WATER
2002
Location: Castle Vale Birmingham
Commissioner: Groundwork
Developed with 12-14 year olds.
We explored the bounding aspects of hawthorn and the watery qualities of willow.
Hawthorn is the hottest burning wood.
The hawthorn trunks in the Severn Valley resemble the chimaeras, fire forms of the mountain, this observation was accentuated by painting the inside with nearby clay.
Willows grow by rivers and pools; both leaves and pollen are carried with the water flow.
